Privacy, Cookies, Comments, and Disclosures

Horomag explains how it handles reader data, comments, cookies, analytics, advertising, source attribution, corrections, and commercial disclosures.

Effective Date

August 10, 2026

Horomag is an independent watch publication covering watches, brands, collectors, design, mechanics, and the wider watch market. For privacy, correction, image-credit, comment, or disclosure questions, contact us at hello@horomag.com.

What Horomag Collects

Horomag does not currently operate reader accounts, paid subscriptions, ecommerce checkout, or a confirmed production newsletter subscription workflow.

If Horomag enables a production newsletter, member account, paid product, survey, event registration, affiliate tracking program, or additional advertising technology in the future, this page must be updated before that collection is treated as active.

Comments

Horomag article comments are moderated before publication. Submitting a comment does not guarantee publication.

The public comment form asks for a name, email address, and comment text. Approved comments may show your name, comment text, and comment date. Your email address is used for moderation identity and is not published.

To reduce privacy exposure, Horomag's comments API stores hashed identifiers for email address, IP address, and user agent instead of storing those raw values. These hashes help with moderation, duplicate detection, spam control, and rate limiting. Comment text and display name may remain visible for as long as the comment remains approved on the article.

Moderators may reject, remove, or mark as spam comments that are abusive, unlawful, promotional, misleading, privacy-invasive, defamatory, unrelated to the article, or otherwise inconsistent with Horomag's editorial standards. To ask about a comment or request removal, email hello@horomag.com with the article URL and enough detail to identify the comment.

Horomag uses Cloudflare Turnstile or a similar security challenge for comment spam prevention on public comment submissions when the protection is configured and available.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Horomag uses cookies, local storage, scripts, and similar technologies for site delivery, security, analytics, advertising, embedded media, and reader convenience.

Essential and functional uses may include delivering pages, images, fonts, and security protections through hosting/CDN providers; remembering browser-only saved stories through local storage; supporting comment moderation, spam prevention, and rate limiting; and loading embedded media such as YouTube no-cookie or Vimeo players when an article includes video.

Analytics uses may include Google tag measurement to understand page traffic, referrers, devices, geography at an aggregated level, and reader interaction patterns. Advertising uses may include Google AdSense. AdSense may use cookies or identifiers for ad delivery, fraud prevention, frequency controls, measurement, and personalization depending on the reader's location, browser settings, Google settings, and applicable requirements.

Horomag does not currently provide an in-site cookie preference center. You can manage cookies and local storage through your browser settings, device settings, and Google advertising controls. Blocking some cookies or scripts may affect ads, analytics measurement, embedded media, comment security checks, or saved-story behavior.

Analytics and Advertising Providers

Horomag currently loads Google tag for analytics and Google AdSense for advertising support. Horomag's /ads.txt file identifies its Google AdSense publisher account.

Google's own policies and controls apply to Google's processing of analytics and advertising signals. Readers can review Google's privacy and ad settings directly through Google.

Horomag may also use hosting, CDN, security, email, CMS, and social platforms to operate the site and respond to reader messages. When you click an external social, video, or brand/source link, the destination service may process your activity under its own terms and privacy policy.

Sources, Images, and Attribution

Horomag aims to base factual claims on official brand material, direct source material, public records, firsthand review context, or clearly identified reputable sources. Articles should credit image and video sources in captions, article source blocks, or surrounding copy when the material is not produced by Horomag.

If you believe a source, image credit, quote, specification, price, availability detail, or attribution is incorrect, contact hello@horomag.com with the article URL, the disputed item, and any supporting source.

Corrections

Horomag accepts correction requests by email at hello@horomag.com. Please include the article URL, the text or detail that needs review, and the primary source or evidence that supports the correction.

Corrections may result in article updates, clarification notes, image-credit updates, source-block revisions, comment moderation actions, or no change if the review does not support the request.

Advertising, Affiliate, Sponsorship, and Access Disclosures

Advertising and sponsorship do not buy Horomag editorial opinion. Editorial coverage should remain guided by relevance, sourcing, accuracy, and reader value.

Horomag may display advertising through Google AdSense. Ad placements should be visually separate from editorial content and should not obscure article text, source blocks, correction notes, or comment notices.

If Horomag publishes sponsored, native advertising, partner, or paid collaboration content, it should be clearly labeled with language such as Sponsored, Advertisement, Partner Content, or another clear disclosure near the relevant content.

If Horomag uses affiliate links, the article or link area should disclose that Horomag may earn a commission when readers buy through qualifying links. At the time of this page, no active affiliate program is verified in the project record.

If a watch, sample, trip, event access, press access, image package, embargoed material, or other benefit materially affects a story context, Horomag should disclose that relationship where relevant to readers.

Retention

Horomag keeps reader messages, correction requests, and related support records for as long as reasonably needed to review, respond, maintain editorial records, and protect the publication.

Approved comments may remain public with the article unless removed by moderation or request review. Pending, rejected, spam, and moderation records may be retained as needed for abuse prevention, audit, and site integrity.

Analytics, advertising, CDN, hosting, security, email, and social-platform records are retained according to the relevant provider settings and policies.
